Dr. Lisa
Sorensen, Ph.D., MA, LP is a licensed psychologist in the State of Minnesota.
Lisa has
over 35 years of experience in the fields of psychology and organizational,
industrial, and forensic consulting. Her experience and understanding of these
areas gives her the ability to apply her psychological expertise in various
settings to attain maximum results for clients.
At the both the individual and team
level, Lisa’s work focuses on facilitating assessments, coaching, and training initiatives to
enhance communication, trust, engagement, influence, conflict
management, decision making, performance, and overall effectiveness and
productivity.
At the organizational level, Lisa often focuses on assisting with candidate assessment and selection initiatives,
promotion initiatives, building positive organizational cultures, and
facilitating trainings in the areas of internal and external
customer service, team effectiveness, individual and organizational wellness, and other various topics that enhance overall effectiveness, productivity, and the bottom
line.
Lisa has particular interest and
expertise in personnel selection services and helping organizations find the
'right' candidates for positions. Her work facilitating selection, leadership, and psychological
assessments has helped many
organizations choose candidates who have the skills for success but also, fit
within the culture of the organization and work team.
Lisa also has expertise in executive
coaching and professional development. Her work in identifying key areas of
opportunity, customizing a development plan to enhance engagement and work performance, and facilitating the development process has helped individuals, teams
and organizations increase their overall success.
Lisa teaches leadership classes for the
Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and is a
highly recommended instructor for Century College’s Continuing Educational and
Supervisory Programs. Lisa has also co-taught business classes at Normandale
Community College, Inver Hills Community College, and Carlton School of
Business.
Lisa earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Elementary Education from St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul, MN, a Master
of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from St. Mary’s University in
Minneapolis, MN, and a Ph.D. from Walden University in
Organizational, Industrial & Forensic Psychology.
Lisa has been a licensed Psychologist
with the State of Minnesota since 1996.
Lisa is a member of the American
Psychological Association, the Minnesota Psychological Association, and the
International Honor Society in Psychology.
